\u2022 Would you like to win a \u00a310,000 commission to produce a significant sculpture?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 This competition is open to artists\/fabricators\/blacksmiths and anyone working with metals<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

To celebrate our 130th anniversary and the opening of our new distribution centre, we would like to commission a sculpture for the reception area. During the last 130 years, F.H. Brundle has developed a passion for the industry and we are constantly amazed at the talents of our customers. So, we would like to offer someone the opportunity to produce a permanent reminder to our distribution centre visitors, of what is possible to create with our products.<\/span><\/p>\n

The sculpture will be dedicated to the memory of Richard Brundle MBE who started working for the family business in 1956 and helped guide and grow the company into the modern era. Not only an astute businessman, Richard always wore a smile and was liked and respected by customers and staff alike.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a great opportunity for someone to create an original piece of work, from the many thousands of products we sell. Key to winning this commission will be your imagination, creativity and skill using our products in your design.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The Brief<\/span><\/h4>\n

To design and install an internal freestanding sculpture\u00a0for the main reception area. Your choice of materials from our range will be supplied free of charge up to a maximum of \u00a31000 in value.<\/span><\/p>\n

Size:<\/strong>\u00a0maximum dimensions are to be:\u00a03000mm high x 2000mm wide x 1200mm deep.<\/span><\/p>\n

Materials:<\/strong>\u00a0the sculpture is to be constructed from your choice of materials available from F.H. Brundle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Access:<\/strong>\u00a0maximum opening via double glass doors: 2150mm high x 1800mm wide.<\/span><\/p>\n

Finish:<\/strong>\u00a0the sculpture will be indoors and must be finished accordingly, depending on the materials and design to provide a long lasting, low maintenance finish.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outline Proposal:<\/strong>\u00a0all submissions must be received by 15th March 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shortlist:<\/strong>\u00a0a shortlist of candidates will be selected by 29th March 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Detailed Designs:<\/strong>\u00a0shortlisted candidates must submit their detailed designs by 3rd May 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Winner:<\/strong>\u00a0the winner will be announced by 3rd June 2019 and will be decided by Michael Brundle and his management team. The winner will receive a commission to produce and install the sculpture, whilst the runners up will each receive \u00a31,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

Installation:<\/strong>\u00a0to be agreed with the winner of the competition. We may wish to visit the winner whilst the sculpture is being produced.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
