SWING VS SLIDE<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Often, the physical requirements at your property won\u2019t allow a choice, automatic gates require space to open or close. Swing gates open in an arc equal to the width of leaf, whilst\u00a0sliding gates require more space\u00a0than their length in order to slide out of the way.<\/p>\n

Swing gates can open inwards or outwards, require less space to install and are generally less expensive than sliding gates. They are easy to install and require less maintenance than sliding gates which need tracks regularly cleaned to avoid debris etc causing problems along the track.<\/p>\n

Sliding gates are ideal where space is limited, they maximise space because the gate opens sideways rather than inwards. However, compared to swing gates, sliding gates are largely more expensive. Sliding gates can be automatically operated using appropriate sliding gate operators.<\/p>\n

Perfect for large and heavy swing gates, worm drive gate openers are robust and reliable that will last for many years. Also, perfect if you wish to retrofit your gate automation. They are attached to the gate posts and pivot around that attachment point and use a screw type movement to shorten the dimensions and open the gate.<\/p>\n

Articulated Arm \u2013 Suitable for swing gates<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Versatile and cost-effective the articulated arm motors are a great option for domestic, commercial and industrial settings and are easy to retro fit. They feature has a hinged arm which acts like a pincer \u2013 the motor is attached to the post or pillar and the end of the jointed arm attaches to the gate itself.<\/p>\n

When operated, the motor pulls the hinged sections together, drawing the gate open and then expands out again to close.<\/p>\n<\/div>
