Aluminium sheet is flat, smooth-surfaced aluminium in mill finish, suitable for general fabrication, cladding, and signage. Aluminium chequer plate — also called tread plate or five-bar plate — has a raised pattern rolled into the surface, providing anti-slip properties. Both are lightweight and naturally corrosion-resistant. Chequer plate is the common choice for flooring, vehicle bodywork, and ramps; flat sheet is preferred for cladding, signage, and fabrication work.
