Blackburn Canal
Balustrade Project – Blackburn
This project exemplifies F.H.Brundle’s commitment to providing a complete solution for all decking and balustrade needs. Located on the picturesque Blackburn canal, the project demanded specific materials to withstand the waterside environment.
Composite Boards: The Perfect Choice
Traditional timber decking wouldn’t suffice due to its susceptibility to water absorption, rot, and warping, but composite boards provided the ideal solution. These low-maintenance, mould-resistant boards offered superior durability against water and environmental wear.
Complementing the View: Glass Balustrade
For an elegant and unobstructed view of the canal, the project incorporated approximately 18 linear metres of glass balustrade. This system utilised 10mm toughened monolithic standard glass panels. The posts were constructed from high-grade 42.4mm stainless steel 316, ideal for external applications due to its superior corrosion resistance. All posts were mid, end, and corner pre-assembled with plain top designs, creating a clean and modern aesthetic.
A One-Stop Shop for Success
This stunning canal-side decking and glass balustrade project demonstrates the benefits of F.H.Brundle’s “All this from one supplier” ethos. By providing both the decking materials and the balustrade system, F.H. Brundle streamlined the entire process for the client, ensuring a successful and visually captivating outcome.
