Depending on a number of factors, the durability of estate fencing will differ. For instance, a galvanised and powder-coated solution fitted in-land (not coastal), will endure for decades, fifty or more years (providing maintained and no metal is exposed). A galvanised solution can last for just as long, but does have one fewer layers of protection. A mild steel solution, if untreated, will ultimately weather and oxidise, turning the outer layer of the steel to rust, therefore this reduces the durability of the solution to around fifteen to twenty years. Results will differ in coastal regions, but if maintained, the fencing will still last for a number of decades.
