Linch Hill Fishery: Secure Haven for Prized Carp with a Sustainable Solution

In 2021, one of our customers embarked on a huge fencing project, The Otter Fence Project, installing over 3000m of fencing, to protect the carp at Linch Hill from wildlife, such as otters, that are well-known in the Cotswold area.

The idyllic Linch Hill Fishery, renowned for its prized carp population, faced a growing threat: otters, increasingly abundant in the Cotswolds region. These skilled predators posed a significant risk to the carp, a cherished part of the fishery’s heritage for many years.

Solution: Recognizing the need to protect both the carp and the otters’ natural habitat, Linch Hill embarked on the ambitious Otter Fence Project. This initiative, spearheaded by Nick Russell and David Johnson, aimed to create a secure barrier around the fishery perimeter.

The Dedication Behind the Effort: The Otter Fence Project was a monumental undertaking. Nick Russell and David Johnson dedicated countless hours, working tirelessly through early mornings and late nights, to ensure the efficient and effective installation of the fencing. Their unwavering commitment ensured the long-term well-being of the carp and the delicate balance of the local ecosystem.
