The kit includes an upper guide roller to guide the gate along the steel gate post that is supplied and a support bracket to attach the end stop to a brick pillar for when the gate is in the closed position.

You can clad the gate frames in a choice of F.H.Brundle mesh, WPC composite boards, aluminium gate infill boards or a material of your choice.

Cantilever
Gate Kits & Components

Cantilever gate kits have been created using leading brands, Comunello, IBFM and FAC, to suit gate openings from 3 – 20m and up to a maximum gate weight of 6500Kg.

Kits are inclusion of 2 x wheel carriages, 1 x guide roller and 1 x end stop. Plates, fixings, and track have been associated with each kit. Where extra components are needed these are available to be purchased individually.

Guardian Cantilever Gate Kits

The Guardian high security cantilever gate kits offer a complete solution for areas requiring protection from vehicles attempting to penetrate a secure area. They are designed to withstand impacts during opening and closing, as well as when the gate is fully closed. Each kit contains all required rolling and guidance parts, ensuring that you have all the equipment you need in a single order.

Bi-Folding Gates

Bi-folding single gate kits offer the perfect gate solution in cases where limited space is available, such as in residential housing or small commercial applications.

They are compact, easy to install, and can be motorised with an arm or on the ground. Each kit comes pre-packed with all required parts, ensuring you have everything you need for your bi-folding gate in a single order.

Telescopic Gate Kits

By having two leaves simultaneously working together, standard telescopic gate kits allow for a much smaller space adjacent to the opening of the gate. Our two leaf telescopic gate kits are available for openings of between 4m and 11.4m.

FAC

Radius Corner Gate Kits Gates

Our radius corner gate kits are a quick and easy-to-install, space-saving sliding gate solution suitable for gates up to 500kg, with a sliding motor. They are compact and will suit a 40mm – 80mm box section for leaf weights between 15kg and 100kg.

Pre-fabricated Site Gates

Construction site access gates are a secure and cost-effective solution for building and construction site security. The functional design keeps the cost low while maintaining a high standard of protection, and will fit alongside timber or steel hoarding systems. All our site gates are galvanised in order to protect them from corrosion, and are available as kits (including mesh panels) for site assembly. The gates can also be clad with hoarding timber, meaning they can be deconstructed and re-used on multiple sites.

Our site gate kits are supplied with gate posts, hinges, gates with drop bar, stretcher bars, welded mesh panels, clamp bars, and mesh Tek screws to fix bars or mesh to your gate.

How to Select Your Gate Kit: A Step-by-Step Guide

Selecting the right metal gate kit involves more than just picking a design you like. To ensure a smooth installation and a gate that lasts for decades, you need to get the technical details right from the start.

Here is how to measure, specify, and equip your gate kit like a pro.

1. Measure the Opening: Gap vs. Leaf

  • The “Gap” (Opening Width): This is the distance between your two posts or brick pillars. This is the number most suppliers need.

  • The “Gate Leaf” Width: This is the actual width of the metal frame itself.

  • The Difference: You must account for hardware. A standard gate kit requires space for hinges (the “hang side”) and the latch or lock (the “closing side”).

The most common mistake in gate ordering is confusing the total opening size with the actual gate size.

Pro Tip: Always measure the gap at both the top and the bottom. Openings are rarely perfectly square, and you should base your order on the smallest measurement.

2. Choose Your Finish: Protection vs. Aesthetics

Metal gates face constant exposure to the elements. Your choice of finish determines how much maintenance you’ll do in the future.

Finish Best For Maintenance
Galvanized Only DIYers who want to paint the gate a custom color. High (requires specialist primer/paint).
Powder-Coated Longevity and a professional, “factory” look. Low (very durable and UV resistant).
Hot-Dip Galv + Powder Coastal areas or high-traffic commercial use. Lowest (the ultimate rust protection).

3. Select Your Infill: Weight Matters

The “infill” is what fills the frame (e.g., vertical bars, wood slats, or composite panels). The weight of your infill dictates the strength required for the rest of the kit.

  • Heavy Infills (Solid Wood/Steel): Require heavy-duty hinges and reinforced gate posts to prevent “gate sag” over time.

  • Light Infills (Aluminum/Open Bars): Allow for slimmer profiles and easier manual operation.

  • Wind Loading: If you choose a solid infill (no gaps), your gate will act like a sail. Ensure your kit includes hinges rated for high wind-load stress.

4. Hardware Check: The Finishing Touches

A gate is only as good as its moving parts. Ensure your kit includes or is compatible with high-quality hardware:

  • Drop Bolts: Essential for double gates to secure one leaf into the ground.

  • Locinox Locks: Industrial-grade locks that are specifically designed for outdoor metal frames—standard indoor locks will seize up in the rain.

  • Adjustable Hinges: These are a lifesaver during installation, allowing you to level the gate even if your posts are slightly out of alignment.
