Modular Roof Access Ladder Kits
Our vertical access ladder kits provide a safe, modular, and cost-effective solution for permanent access to roofs, plant platforms, and elevated work areas. Designed for simplicity and flexibility, each system is made up of individual components that bolt together, allowing you to configure a ladder to suit almost any application.
From flat-pack convenience to specialist GRP construction – we have a solution for every vertical access challenge. Across our three kits, you’ll find a system to match your safety requirements and environmental conditions.
AX Ladder Kits
The Original AX vertical ladder kit is designed with speed and simplicity in mind. Supplied as a flat-pack kit, it reduces the need for detailed site surveys or bespoke drawings, helping to cut lead times and installation costs.
It offers a flexible, modular design that conforms to BS 4211, making it a practical solution for standard vertical access requirements where simplicity is key. Self-closing full and half gates are available as optional extras.

EX Ladder Kits
The European EX ladder kit builds on the Original AX ladder kits with a strong focus on enhanced safety and performance. Featuring highly slip-resistant rungs made from a punched plank pattern, it provides excellent grip and drainage in demanding environments.
Designed to align with European standards, these ladders have been independently tested for strength and performance, making them ideal for projects where higher safety specifications are required. Self-closing full and half gates are available as optional extras.
Components are generally compatible to BS EN ISO 14122-4:2004+A1:2010 (E). Ladder sections have been independently tested, and they comply with the loading requirements and performance tests as detailed in BS EN 131-2:2010+A1:2012.

GRP Ladder Kits
GRP ladder kits offer a durable, non-corrosive alternative to traditional metal systems. Manufactured from glass-reinforced plastic, they are ideal for harsh or corrosive environments such as water treatment plants or coastal areas.
With integrated fall protection hoops and multiple configuration options, GRP systems provide a safe, long-lasting and low-maintenance solution for permanent access installations.

Frequently asked questions:
Yes. Thanks to the modular design, ladder kits can be configured with:
- Different heights
- Entry/exit points
- Safety cages (hoops)
- Mounting options
This allows them to suit most access scenarios.
Under BS 4211 guidance, a single ladder run should not normally exceed 10 metres without an intermediate rest platform or landing, to reduce fatigue and fall risk. To fully comply with BS 4211:2008, all ladders over 9m must have a rest platform.
Very straightforward. All systems use a bolt-together modular design, meaning they can be installed quickly using standard tools. No specialist fabrication is required.
No — all systems are supplied as flat-pack kits. This makes them easier to transport and handle on-site, and they are designed for straightforward assembly.
In most cases, no. Our ladder kits are designed as modular, off-the-shelf systems, especially the AX range which helps eliminate the need for detailed surveys or bespoke drawings. However, complex installations may still benefit from a survey.
It depends on your environment and priorities:
- Choose AX if you need a simple, cost-effective solution
- Choose EX if safety and compliance are a priority
- Choose GRP is you are working in a corrosive or harsh environment
