Toughened (tempered) glass is a monolithic safety glass up to 5 times stronger than standard float glass. Toughened laminated glass consists of two toughened glass sheets bonded together with a plastic interlayer (PVB, EVA, or SGP). If a laminated pane breaks, the interlayer retains the glass in place, maintaining a safety barrier.
