Toothed Rack

F.H.Brundle supplies a comprehensive range of toothed rack for sliding gates, covering residential, commercial, and industrial electric gate applications. Also known as gate gear rack or sliding gate rack, toothed rack is fixed to the base of the sliding gate to allow the electric gate operator's drive cog to engage with the teeth and propel the gate in the chosen direction. The range includes galvanised steel toothed rack in sizes from 30 x 8mm to 30 x 30mm and Mod.4 galvanised rack in 22 x 22mm section, available in 1m and 2m lengths to suit gates from lightweight domestic installations up to heavy-duty commercial gates rated to 3,500kg. For corrosive or coastal environments where steel is unsuitable, a fibreglass rack (20 x 20mm, Mod.4) is also available. Fixing options include welded connection bolts, threaded connection bolts, and pre-drilled track, with alloy support brackets supplied separately.

Selecting the correct sliding gate rack depends on the gate weight, the modulus (pitch) of the gate operator's drive pinion, and the fixing method best suited to the gate frame construction. All galvanised toothed racks in the range offer corrosion resistance suitable for outdoor use, and the Mod.4 rack options are compatible with the majority of electric sliding gate operators available in the UK market.
