Step Overs

F.H.Brundle's Step-Over Platform Kits are galvanised steel access structures designed to provide safe, controlled crossing over low-lying obstacles including pipework, cable trays, and plant equipment in industrial, commercial, and rooftop environments. Frames are constructed from 42.4mm tube and hot-dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 for long-term corrosion resistance in exposed conditions. Anti-slip treads are fitted as standard to ensure secure footing for users, and the step sections are adjustable, allowing the platforms to be configured for use on sloped roofs as well as level surfaces. Working heights range from 800mm to 1,600mm to accommodate varying obstacle heights. Two base configurations are available: platforms for membrane roofs, which distribute load without penetrating the waterproofing layer, and platforms for concrete roofs, where a more rigid fixing method is appropriate. In both configurations, the platform structure also acts as a protective barrier that prevents direct foot traffic on the roof sheet, reducing the risk of damage to the roofing membrane during maintenance and inspection activities.
