DDA Handrail Fittings

Under the terms of the Equality Act 2010, reasonable adjustments need to be made to commercial and public buildings to overcome physical barriers which prevent disabled access. One way to achieve this is to provide suitable handrails on external stairways as recommended in Part M of the Building Regulations.

DDA Handrail fittings have been manufactured to help create a system that provides a smooth top of the handrail by using expansive tube fittings or key clamps which support the galvanized steel tube on the underside, leaving the top of the tube free of obstruction. This makes the tube clamp disability handrail easy to grip for even the most vulnerable.

This range can also be powder coated any RAL colour.

Our range includes Stargard Flex Bendy Steel handrail — which can be manipulated by hand to create bends and angles for routes requiring changes in direction — along with pre-made posts and dedicated fixings, giving contractors and specifiers a complete, coordinated system for stairs, ramps, walkways, and other access routes. Suitable for construction, civil engineering, transportation, and architectural applications, both internally and externally.

Please note: "DDA handrail" remains a widely used industry term, although the Disability Discrimination Act has since been replaced by the Equality Act 2010. Product selection should always be checked against current Building Regulations (Approved Documents M and K) and the specific requirements of your project.
