Expanded Metal

Our extensive range of expanded metal mesh offers a strong, versatile and lightweight solution for a wide variety of industrial, commercial, construction and architectural applications. Available in mild steel, pre-galvanised steel, stainless steel grades 304 and 316, and aluminium, our expanded metal sheets and panels are available in a variety of mesh patterns, aperture sizes, thicknesses and sheet or roll formats to suit different project requirements.
What Is Expanded Metal?
Expanded metal is manufactured by feeding metal sheets or coils through a specialist expanding machine, where the material is simultaneously slit and stretched to create a distinctive mesh pattern. This process produces a continuous mesh structure without the need for welding, offering excellent strength, rigidity and durability.
Available as raised expanded metal mesh or flattened expanded metal, it provides a practical alternative to conventional wire mesh, combining strength with airflow, visibility and an attractive open-mesh design.
Expanded Metal Applications
The strength and versatility of expanded metal sheets and panels make them suitable for numerous applications, including:
Security screens, window guards and protective barriers
Balustrade infill panels and architectural metalwork
Building facades, cladding and decorative screens
Walkways, platforms and expanded metal flooring
Machine guards, cages, shelving and partitions
Brickwork reinforcement and general fabrication
Exhibition stands, ornamental features and art installations
Whether you require expanded metal for security, protection, ventilation or architectural design, there are a variety of mesh specifications to suit your application. Our range includes mild steel expanded mesh, pre-galvanised steel, stainless steel expanded metal in grades 304 and 316, and aluminium expanded metal sheets. Depending on the material and product specification, additional finishes such as galvanising, painting and powder coating can provide the desired appearance and level of surface protection.
Choose from raised or flattened expanded metal mesh in a wide selection of patterns, apertures and thicknesses, with various sheet and roll sizes available.
